Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet!
I’m Angelica, the home baker, recipe developer, and photographer behind Baking for Life.
I’ve always loved baking and experimenting in the kitchen. Whether it’s making cookies or decorating a cake, I enjoy the process and love sharing the results.
Years ago, I baked primarily for family gatherings or special treats since I didn’t want to have a constant supply of temptations.

These days, I bake more often because I realize I can incorporate healthier ingredients in what I consider “everyday” bakes.
Baking for Everyday Life
I know that “healthy” looks different for everyone, depending on their nutrition and health goals.
For the things I eat regularly, I like to make recipes that sub healthier ingredients to maximize nutrition. For me, that means using fresh milled flour instead of all-purpose as often as possible. This gives me all the healthy fiber and nutrition of the whole grain, which allows me to eat all the carb-y things without the sugar spikes. I also focus on reducing or eliminating refined sugar and boosting the protein content where it makes sense.

Baking for Celebrations
Baking for special occasions is about celebrating special moments and for those times, my focus is on delicious, shareable treats.
Not everyone is going to be on board with whole wheat, reduced sugar cakes or desserts! For those situations, I might also make recipes using traditional ingredients, shortcut ingredients and the occasional cake mix.
I’m not about strict guidelines or rules my baking and this blog will reflect that.
Why I started Baking for Life
“Baking for Life” is more than just a blog name. It’s about baking for everyday life, for life’s special occasions and everything in between. It’s about the recipes that work for me, whether new or tried-and-true. Baking for life is also about fitting in various nutritional restrictions and preferences, whatever they may be.
I started this blog to share my recipes, thoughts and kitchen experiments. I hope my recipes help you in your own baking, whether that’s trying a new recipe, or just testing a few swaps in your favorite recipes.
Whatever you bake, the most important part is to have fun and enjoy the process!
